Hi all, a friend has some .40caliber 22 round Glock magazines and knows he can't sell/transfer/blah blah blah anything here in the state. Is there anything preventing them from listing them online and shipping to a non restricted location? Not sure if them originating in CA would be an issue or not.

Possible to sell magazines to out of state?
Tags: None -
He can not sell them from or in California. He can travel to another state and sell them, if it is legal in that state. -
Originating from CA is very probably a no-no - PC says32310.
(a) Except as provided in Article 2 (commencing with Section 32400) of this chapter and in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any person in this state who
manufactures or causes to be manufactured,
imports into the state,
keeps for sale, or
offers or exposes for sale,
or who gives, lends, buys, or receives any large-capacity magazine is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

Thanks guys - he read that and wasn't sure if as long as he was sending them out of CA, oh well, guess he'll have to take a drive somewhere else!Comment

Sounds absurd to me. The intent is to prevent transfer in California. A transfer to someone out of state should make antis happy.Comment

^^^ Not really. The anti's want nobody to have firearms and if they can effect a problem in other states they are happy. They are just a brain dead, waste of air, POS lowlife groupA 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

One would think leaving the state would be OK... I had some years ago (pre-freedom week but still legal, grandfathered in) and was flying from Sac to the East coast. Checked the firearm at the counter, but had 2 magazines in my carry on, no ammo anywhere to be seen. The sheriff took them, didn't give me a receipt for them, I had a Sheriff buddy who worked there go look for them and to no one's surprise, they weren't where they were supposed to be, he straight up just jacked me for em saying I couldn't have them, even though at the time I could. Which is why now, my friend is trying to cover his bases (basis?) because it's not worth a few hundred dollars the headache that could be caused but at the same time has no need for these and doesn't need them laying around when someone else could enjoy them.Comment

First off shouldn’t have said anything about them. Someone you trusted that might have the same gun as you could have taken them off your hands.
What you can do is have a CA FFL with a HC license list them for you. Give them a picture, number of mags and if they sell one or all, then drop them off at the FFL for mailing. I wouldn’t turn them over till they have them sold out of state or to a LE customerComment

In other states where standard capacity is legal, how would this affect them? They get magazines all day any day from any online vendor. The point is that CA should be happy that we are sending the magazines out of the State.Comment

They don’t want you to have them, they also don’t want you to sell them.
All they want is for you to turn them over or destroy them.
Guessing it’s their way of imposing financial hardship if you have a large collection.
The OP could mail them to AR-15 Barrels after making arrangements for consignmentComment

Would OP be able to break the mags down into parts? ship one half to his 'friend' and the other half to his 'other friend'Comment
