Ammo Storage

is it safe to have ammo stored near the bed in large quantities? i am out of space where i usually put my ammo, and i'm thinkin' of getting a bench storage at the foot of my bed.

would it be relatively safe to do this?

If so, any recommended lockable storage containers?

I think it would be fine to do that. I don't see what would be unsafe about it, except for maybe having a bunch of lead by the bed?

I store some of my ammo under the bed. If it's hot enough under there to start cooking off rounds I've got bigger problems (like being on fire).

As long as you keep it dry, it shouldn't be an issue.

No drinks near bed, low humidity etc.

It should be safe, but would make me a little uneasy in case of a fire. Especially during the night when I'm asleep. I gotta vision of the electric blanket sparking up.

They dont seem to have problems with ammo and heat in Iraq, I wouldnt think it would be an issue. I hvae around 4500 rounds stored under my bed. Im still alive

Yeah, probably much hotter in Iraq than in my attic
