    Metcalf

I made a reservation for a 2 hour session this Saturday at Metcalf. Have any of you done this? I was wondering if they changed the length or frequency of cease fires. If not that means about 1 hour of actual shooting time. The reservation is only $6.00 but do you still have to pay the normal entry fee? I heard they made some improvements during the shutdown. Maybe they got rid of the shaky 50 yard benches? I can only hope! I'm glad they are reopening, my fear was the County would use the shutdown as an excuse to close it up. Los Altos was booked up this weekend.

Theres quick 6min cease fires every 30min or so, same janky target stands and benches but I'm not complaining.

Ceasefire every 15 min... though it's sometimes stretched. The still have the same benches, but they got rid of the spotting scopes and even the mats I believe.

Only fee is the 6$. Bring a print out or have it on your phone, they will check the reservation before you go in. And I guess, bring your mask too.

Thanks for the info. I'm getting an itchy trigger finger.

I went last weekend. Agreed. It was well worth the $6. They were very professional and made the cease fire sessions very efficient and safe.

            Have fun!

Metcalf is one of the outdoor ranges I like. My paranoia with other people and their (lack of) respect for my life is the reason. The people that work at Metcalf are safety-junkies like me.

Once I went to the outdoor range in Davis (next to the airport) and was shocked at their don't-GAS-attitude toward people handling their firearms during a cease-fire.

              Nope, won't go there.
