OP, do you have any old pics of the store? I can’t help you, I just like photos of that kind of stuff.

            Approximate address ?

Did it ever go by a different name?

I've been in San Diego a long time, I've never heard of it.

Their shop was in spring valley off Jamacha. I’ll see if I can hunt down some pictures. They remained Ralph’s firearms the entire duration of business. Next door was a little vhs movie rental shop. By today’s standards it would have been just east of the McDonald’s that’s off of 54 and Jamacha. There were always sheriffs who would hang out in the shop and chat with my grandmother, her name was Ann. Times were different growing up then. Having grown up in a firearm/veteran cultured family, personal responsibility, you earn what you work for type family culture was huge. It’s be nice to buy memories of my child hood and pass that down in the family.

Now this is what I remember as "the good old days". Good luck with your hunt on info.

I know exactly where that little shopping plaza is located. Sheriffs still hang out behind Mc D's. Would be really cool if it were still there..

                  Good luck

I wish it were. They had plans to add an indoor range. I think she closed up in 1989. Great memories visiting the shop. I’d be extremely grateful if I could get anything that was bought from them

That is interesting. I also recently found out there used to be a gun shop in solana beach. There are lots of SD members here maybe one of them got a gun at your grandparent's shop.

I have to ask - was your grandfather's collection sold off and that is what you are after? I think so but I want to make sure.

Almost all of the family collection was liquidated. I’m realistic knowing that I’ll never get those. My goal is to try to find anything that had a direct link to the shop. I remember the majority of inventory being revolvers and hunting rifles.
