M1A Advice

I've never bothered to scope my M21, which is a little silly. Are Sadlaks still the hot ticket for M1A mounts? I haven't kept up obviously.

I have had good result with the SEI mount on a SA M1A Scout-Squad. I do use a very good cheek pad though.
I use the same mount on their Crazy Horse rifle, and neither has come loose.

I enjoy my SA M1A fully loaded model. The front sight did come loose after about 100 rounds, little annoyed with that, but I took the opportunity to swap the brake out for the CC one.

I see several advantages to the M14 platform
#1 Its is now more versatile for heavier bullet weights because of an optional adjustable gas plug.
That could be a big advantage if one were to hunt or defend against large dangerous predatory animals !
#2 Its easy to clear a stuck case by simply kicking the op rod sharply down.
#3 the 308 round handles wind and small obstacles better than a smaller bullet.
#4 I like the sights that are on the barrel instead of high up like the AR.
#5 The 14 has wonderful sights where each click =1 MOA which makes shooting different ranges very easy by memorizing or writing down the come ups.
Windage is also 1 MOA click adjustable.
In short the 14 is a Riflemans rifle designed to do everything required of a rifle with very few if any problems.
In the decades Ive shot the M14 mine have never required a repair .

I prefer a M1A over another rifle system , with Different chassis and Rail kits adding a Scope isnt as difficult but theres the added cost and In California can Neuter a Great weapon platform . I've had bad luck with Springfield
But with Springfield being the Majority supplier what everyone has and Stocks.
Just one of those things I take a couple precautions and deal with.
