I've never heard of this before. So I just grabbed my 637-2 and turned off the lights. Mine does it too. Does it with empty chambers and snap caps. Very cool. Mine was bought new in 2018 and I only have a few cylinders of rounds through the gun.

Oh gotcha. I was thinking RELOADING=CYLINDER OPEN. I know some revolvers will allow the trigger to activate while cylinder is swung out, but my recollection was the smith wouldnt.

You should probably send that 442 into smith and wesson. Something must be wrong with it. Jka. Now we are gonna see people checking for spark on revolvers at ffls. I'll take the one with the biggest spark please.

I checked my 642 Pro, no spark that I can see but the hammer is completely shrouded

On mine the spark comes through the firing pin channel. Nothing around the hammer area.
