Potential Ammo shortage for the next 90 days?

First, a little history on where this is coming from. I came across "the weapons warehouse" while searching for items to post to my "Craigslist Firearms for sale" thread. I contacted Dave at the weapons warehouse because he is local to me, just to see what he carried. Nice guy to deal with and had some reasonable prices on ammo. I didn't actually purchase anything from him at the time as I was just inquiring about his business. I thanked him for providing another resource for ammunition during this time of "ammo hoarding" and bare shelves at all of the local walmarts and he said he would add me to his mailing list so that I would get any updates to what he had in stock. Dave sent this email to me today and I thought it might be worth mentioning here as a heads up to my fellow calgunner's on what the ammo situation might be in the coming months.

    Customers,

Just wanted to let everyone know that we just got in another shipment Monday of 40Cal.
,45Cal, 9mm, 357Cal, 44Cal,223 Rem, & 380 give me a call if you need to restock. My distributors are saying that the supply is going to get even worse because of a new order that the Government just put in so ammunition will be almost impossible to find in the next 90 days. Good luck to everyone and once again thank you for your purchases.

    The Weapon Warehouse
    Dave

Not trying to bash those guys, but wasnt he the one trying to sell 400 rounds of 9mm blazer brass for $200, or .50 a round? Or almost 2.5 times what they normally cost?

How can it get any worse? There's nothing out there?

I guess it could get worse if we have to turn what we have in.

Probably spreading FUD to help push his ammo.

OMG the sky is falling. An ammo seller is telling me ammo is going to be harder to get, so I'd better buy as much as I can from them!!! Hopefully he'll be cool enough to let me buy a bunch.

And, the military now uses .44 and .357??

Threads like this one is the reason we have a shortage to begin with. Don't buy into the panic, people!

                          The Weapon Warehouse

He should have his website up in the next week or two based on our phone conversation. Until that is up and running you can contact him by phone or email.

Like I said in the beginning of my post, I don't personally know the man but when I called to inquire about his business he was very friendly and honest about the current state of affairs in regards to ammo.

And, the military now uses .44 and .357??
Not to my knowledge but if the top manufacturer's of ammo are trying to fill an order for the government then it stands to reason that they may not be producing as much of the more popular civillian ammunition which in term means that orders could be delayed and/or partially filled.

This thread was not meant to inspire panic but rather to pass along a bit of information. I was actually more interested in finding out if anyone had heard anything similar when purchasing recently.

I'm not sure. I would have to look through the craigslist thread to see what he was selling it for. Personally, I like the idea of supporting a local business especially when walmart has nothing on the shelf for any of us to buy.
