Local shop recommendations

Looking for some recommendations for a local shop to support for handgun purchases near the Rocklin/Roseville, CA area.
Looking for a place that will be kind to 1st time gun owner.
We have Big Bass Pro Shop and Sportsmans Warehouse close by...but it would be nice to support a small local shop too if possible.
