wallmart ammo prices, WTF

I thought I would go pick up five 40 cal , 100 round value packs for the day after thanks giving shoot. I was shocked that the price went up like 7 bucks a box. I could have swore I used to pay 13 something a few months back. Now they are 20.55 per box. I purchased them anyway because I dont have the time to search around. But I think at that price I can just go to one of the beef jerky shows.

.40 cal has been around $17 around here last time i checked,9mm was around $13.

I just looked at some old reciets. Yup, I was paying $13.55 per 100 rounds. So they did go up 7 bucks. Sucks. But still an ok price I guess if you need the ammo in a hurry and your local shope doesnt have any deals on it.

The price of copper has gone up A LOT! Prices have gone up everywhere even for us reloaders. A 100 count box of 69gr bullets used to cost me under $10, now its above $15.

Considering the prices for a 50ct box of .40S&W usually went for $10 the past few years, paying $20 for a 100ct box of .40S&W is about normal. Of course, I guess Walmart prices tend to be below the price curve since they can afford to sell at rock bottom.

We all have to live with the increasing costs of shooting. Even us reloaders. That's just the breaks.

Mi-Wall is by far the best source, usually found at Gun Shows, they are reloads but, great reloads, I shoot a lot of 9mm (which I don't bother to reload) 38 special, 45 acp (which I now load) all three run around $90
to $125 per thousand, I've shot in excess of 10,000 rounds without a problem.
They are out of Oregon but the shipping will cost you a lot. I wait for the
Gun Show and stock up. California schedule November 25 & 26 they will be in Bakersfield and December 2 & 3 Fresno Fair Grounds December 16 & 17
Paso Robles Mid-state Fair Grounds.

was picking up my P225 today and saw they had a nice stash of new ammo, including the elusive Wolf 7.62x39. Saw the good ole brown box 20 round 5.56 was priced at just under $7, and when I asked about the case of Wolf it was just under $260/1000. She said it was something like $5.89 per box of 20 for Wolf!

If you ask me, it's never been a better time to reload/buy online.
