    Firearm/Hobby Workbench

    What's your workbench look like?

    Here's mine:

Two questions. What's in the floor how do you not destroy carpet when doing anything at that bench? Metal shavings, oil, saw dust, how do you handle inside.

Second question. What is the monthly vig to your significant other to keep that setup?

I also use a pegboard but I went through with a bunch of zip ties and a pair of tweezers and secured all the hooks in place. Loose hooks in a pegboard when you actually use your tools regularly is an awful experience.

No carpet. Hardwood so easily vacuumed, but also surrounded by large rubber anti-fatigue mat that's easy to wipe clean after cleaning session. Also, have a full length lipped plastic tray I pull out for wet work. I have another dirty bench in garage and want to set up a reloading bench next this. It's much nicer working in nice AC room. Covid working-from-home phone conferences are much more enjoyable when I can multitask.

As for hooks, they swing when banging, but bench is fairly sturdy so haven't had issues of anything falling off.

Whoa, wait. You can actually see the bench. There aren't projects stacked, tools set out... What strange world is this?

Looks good OP. I should make a point to set everything back neatly when I finish a project.

That was the deal I made with the wife.... I can have this in the office as long as it doesn't look like the disaster bench in the garage and I clean up after myself

I have a 50 foot work bench built into the back wall of my shop but I think you have more open space on yours than I do on mine. I need to do a good forearm sweep of mine.

I don't have any good pictures of my gun bench. This is the best that I can find.

I don't use pegboard, my tools are in Kennedy Boxes, the woodworking ones are in tool rolls as seen in the picture. I used to dabble in rifle building and this is one of my projects.

Just set it up huh? Even the file is clean.

I have 15 projects scattered in my garage. Oil, grease, shavings of various materials, and the smell of WD-40 everywhere. No point in ever deep cleaning or organizing a perpetual work space.

That looks awesome! Always wanted to get into more wood craftsmanship.

Covid project . Honestly only ever had to use file for my rear sights.

OP, your work bench looks as clean and ordered as mine. Good job!

Very nice OP. I've been thinking about making a small one myself for swapping out barrels.
