    American Security gun safes feedback

I had a Liberty FatBoy Jr which I was satisfied with. Recently moved and came across the AmSec gun safe line. Specifically I am considering the FV-6042 E5 model which I found on sale at a local store. Anyone have experience with AmSec safes and this model specifically? TIA

AMSEC is a great safe but you still only get what you pay for. The AMSEC BF safe is probably the Best RSC out there. In general the heavier the safe for that size the more steel to protect your valuables.

This own/ owned multiple Amsec Safes. Never had to test one..The local Lgs Sells them and has a pic from after one of the Hurricanes or fires . And the only thing left of the House is the Safe. I was mistaken allegedly it was a house explosion. [QUOTE=tsmithson;24350927]AMSEC

I have had one for years and fit and finish are excellent, it is a well built safe for the money. I also have the Fatboy Jr and while it's a good safe it's just not as nice.

It's probably about the equivalent or slightly heavier than your Liberty that you were satisfied with. For it's size it is pretty light since I think the body is 12GA with a 3GA door.

Take a look at the Amsec BFII series for heavier steel and they use Drylight for fire suppression instead of gypsum board like the NF series..

I have an NF series one. 1/4 plate door and 11 gauge body with 90 minute rating.

It’s legit. When bolting your safe down, dab some silicone sealant on the bolts if you have a crawl space. I found moisture likes to get in through those holes.

This is another model I am considering. Smaller, more expensive but heavier and higher fire rating.

^^^ not sure about our safes being different except for size.

According to Amsec’s website, your buying a bigger model, but same specs https://www.amsecusa.com/product/nf6036e5/

Amsec is good.. bf or.bf 2 , I forget if they are both concrete filled or not. If its filled with drywall firerboard, the saw will go through it like butter. The concrete filled ones, will ruin a burglars saw blade real quick... do your research
