USPS or UPS?
USPS
UPS
UPS makes up to three delivery attempts, excluding weekends and holidays. The third and final delivery attempt has been made, and the driver was unable to leave your package. UPS reserves the right to return the package to the shipper after three delivery attempts. -
FFL has to arrange for delivery or pick up.Comment

USPS or UPS ?My FFL is closed on weekends and USPS made an attempt to deliver it today. I got an email stating that it could go back to the supplier. I tried contacting all 3 parties involved but no luck on the weekend. I’m assuming that they will make 3 attempts, but that might just be UPS policy.
Anyone have experience with this?
World of a difference and how can we help you unless you know?Comment

It happens, I have had this happen with a transfer to my FFL. No big deal. Your FFL can pick it up or reschedule delivery. I don't think it will get shipped back for a while and then only if nobody does anything. Especially now with Covid, they will hold it for 30 days.
In an ongoing effort to assist our customers amid the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, until further notice, the Postal Service™ is temporarily extending the time to 30 days before a mail piece will be returned to sender with the exception of Perishable items.

More than likely it will be delivered Monday with no action needed on OP's part. Delivery people know when a business on their route is open/closed usually and know to attempt re delivery when they are open."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"Comment

I'm still interested to read whether a CA-compliant handgun was ordered; my post in the OP's other thread:
