Ferfrans CRD and cleaning tips

I have the ferfrans crd cqb and I love it. Actually move it from both of my rifles back and forth.

Well in my cleaning regiment I forgot to take care of this thing......... it has a hundred tiny holes that are caked with carbon. Tried using my bolt scraper but the shape is just not effective.

What can I do to clean out these little holes? Soak it in something? Trying not to ruin the external finish. The carbon is so thick constant scraping with a brass brush almost does nothing.

Try a "Chem Dip" soak. You can buy it at auto parts stores. Soak as long as needed. Forget the stop watch.

I'd test in on the finish first. I've never seen it hurt anything, but I haven.t seen everything either so...

Interesting I might try that. I was scrubbing it this morning with a brass brush and thought a vise a dremel might might quick work of it with a brass brush attached too lol.
