Just got my Glock 19 gen3 and wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations for the sights? Since it just comes with plastic sights I figured i definitely need to upgrade. Thanks ahead of time.

I installed Dawson Precision fiber-optic front and serrated black rear on my G-17. Sight picture was much improved over the stock sights.

What is your use case? Defense, recreational/plinking, precision, competition, etc? As already mentioned above - sight selection is mostly a personal preference.
I just replaced the sights of my new G21SF with an Ameriglo GL-853 (see below) which I find is the cheaper version of the Trijicon HD XR in my G19 (heading to the range now to zero). Now - my use case for the 21 is more tactical (self-defense/home defense and classes). Since I sometimes take the G19 to matches, it has a narrower front sight, hence, the "XR."
My four other Glock 34s - use either Taran Tactical's sights or Dawson Precision - narrow fiber optic front and all black rear and a wide notch for action shooting.

Trijicon 3 dot non tritium sights. All metal, easy to find white front sight, subdued off white rear sights. About $40.

I got mine with the factory night sights. Pretty happy with them.Comment

It's going to be a combination of home defense and recreational use. I'm a first time gun owner and really want to increase my gun/2A knowledge. Don't want to be another clueless Californian.Comment

Welcome to the fold!
If you are not already, become a member of the NRA and/or CRPA.
Be safe and enjoy your new G19!
Oh, and if you can afford it, arrange for a training class, or two. You will have fun, and be ready to maintain your skills after the class.
