I just removed the Larue quad rail 13.2 on a 14.5" barrel.

I thought quad rails were out of fashion these days.

Quad rails have fallen out of fashion for very good reason. Few people need the real estate and extra weight of a quad rail. An M-Lok will likely do everything you need a rail to do and without the extra weight, bulk, or "cheese grater" effects.

But if you just happen to like the look of quad rails, there's nothing wrong with that. And LaRue makes a solid product. I'm sure their quad rail is a good rail.

i run my 13.2 on a 14.5" barrel nowadays. I used to have it on a 16" carbine gas barrel. No issues. If i were to run an FSB i would choose using a midlength 16" barrel with an FSB.

I still love my quadrails. I primarily stick to larue and centurion now. Had a few DD quadrails. I prefer the older DD quad rails.

One of my former setups was using a 16" CMMG midlength with a DD M4 9" rail with an FSB. I loved the setup it was mobile and didn't feel cumbersome. Loved the look of the FSB, plus with the midlength rail the rifle didn't look two long. If i were to change anything. I would recommend using a foldable FSB like the YHM, ARMS, or PRI offer as a FSB. Makes it easier to use a red dot if you do decide to put one on.

I use their quad rail on all of my AR's of all lengths. They're one of the best rails out there. Well made, has a lock ring so it won't budge, good looking, light weight, and affordable. What's not to like? Larue is a military contractor. They know their stuff.

I just removed the 13.2 LaRue quad and it is solid. It looks better and more solid than the newly installed Noveske NHR. I removed it only because I wanted to have everything Noveske.

You could also look into Daniel Defense RIS2. They have a FSB option

Military is slow to change. The Mk18 handguard that LaRue makes is popular on shorties. There are also lots of old M4's with KAC RIS/RAS rail adapters, so lots of military are used to Pic rails.

The Danny D RIS II quad rail is extremely popular with the MK18 crowd. Still fetched a premium... $300 give or take

You just about can't go wrong with any Larue product.
