    Sage EBR Chassis - M1A

hey you gun wizards and gurus out there......do you know if the Sage EBR chassis for the M1A is still being made and available for sale?

Just sent and email to the sales account at Sage and it was kicked back for failed delivery because mailbox is full.

Looking to have one ordered and made CA legal for my scout m1a on order.

    Thanks for any info.

Maybe we can talk you out of making your rifle heavier and less functional at the same time.

They work well and are well made. As chuck d says it will make it much heavier. Had a Troy stock for mine ang it was less accurate in the Troy stock.

I don’t think it will be less functional, but certainly heavier.
If light is the function you are going for then yes, less functional

But it is very sturdy, very adjustable for LOP and comb, has attachment points for tac farkles and is extremely well made.

Had most versions of the thing and ended up selling it because ... stupid heavy.

I also sold my super match in a McMillan stock for the same reason.

Sage is hard to get a hold of, that has been a standard for years.
There are always one or tow for sale if you are patient.

        Personally, I wouldn’t bother.

If you must have tech for your M1A I would look at Black Feather from Canada, that is some good stuff and much lighter.
Just as unobtanium as a Sage though

I only say "less functional" because he will have to use some kind of mag lock with the sage EBR, or rig up a fin and pin the stock.

Seems like a bummer when it's already a featureless rifle to start with.

            Haha! Yep.

            I forget now.

I did make up good tricks for my all of them, Mod O I threw a 5/8 nut under the thumb plunger which disabled the stock LOP release, which made it a fixed stock.
As I recall, and I could be wrong, but I think it did still have an adjustable comb height though ... wondering if I made an oopsie ... Did my shoulder thing go up ???
            Well. Free state now lol.

The mod 1 was the same deal, just used a fixed carbine magpul on it
Both those types also used a grip fin, no fvg, and a muzzle schnozz.

I also had an ALCS with a magpul shotgun stock.
            Functional but fug.

At any rate, it was too heavy to be good function. My little socom looks good in the red birch, and I have an old GI wrinkle finish fiberglass one it came in.

So pretty much set with those, and like you said, in CA it isn’t much practical sense.

A good thing for one to do, is to look in the mirror, and say to yourself, “you know this is all about the bling, right?”

            The iterations

            Now

            Mod 1

            CA version

            Mod 0

            They all worked, but again.

            Heavy.

I totally know it will be ridiculously heavy. As far as accuracy, I have already been talked out of the National Match down to the Scout on order ahahaha

My cousin has the SOCOM and love blasting with that version as well.

This...I find it to just be a beautiful set up. I don't care if it adds a few extra pounds as I'm not taking it into battle or taking it hunting. It's on my short list as well. They were going for about $750 used last year but have gone up. Keep checking gunbroker.com. There was one here for sale for under $1000 about 6 months ago.....did you try the search function on the classifieds here?

Edit:Now that I think about it...I'd remember if it was a chassis here for under $1000 or a chassis and Socom for under $2000, but search for it and see if it's still available. Good luck.

Yah I hear you. I'm searching pretty often on here and have a WTB thread created for a little fishing attempt.

My Idea: you guys know if it's possible to have Sage ship the EBR to my local gunsmith who has the manufacturer's license, I believe it's class 7 or something? that way they can charge me for CA conversion after they get the shipment?

I have an email to an online vendor who has them for sale asking this. Seems reasonable though right?

I put a large hex nut (anything of size will work) under the thumb release. It disables the release and disallows the movement of the stock as a result.
                      Easy.

Be careful, I had a national match with a mid weight barrel and it was too large diameter to work,
I think sage makes one for a mid weight barrel but I never pursued it.

The Sage was just bling for me.
                        Been there, done that now.

While ia had it I learned about the Black feather.

Those are some fine looking rifles, Chicken.

Looks are a good enough reason for me when it comes to cars, bikes, guns, or guitars.

                            Thanks man,
They were all the same chassis with just buttstock and gear changes

And yeah, I have had a habit if MoaR but lol, trying to be sensible now.
