    purchasing bulk ammo in CA

Are there any restrictions when buying bulk ammo from a private party? I want to buy 500-1000 rds of 9mm ball. I have bought it commercially in CA (Placer county) but never from a private party like here on CalGuns forums. Calif. rules keep changing and I haven't kept up.
Any advice is appreciated , thanks , Matt

Unless you have a 03FFL and COE, it has to be transferred through a FFL

Ammo is cheap enough to buy from stores. I can not imagine a private party selling it cheap enough to make it worth going thru the ffl process.

Its like anything else in the marketplace here. Most is overpriced but if you're quick you can find some good deals.

I'd just look for a sale and buy from a store. Though right now doesn't seem like a good time to buy. I've never paid more than $210 for 1000 rds of 9mm. When stores were asking $200 for 500 rounds a few weeks ago, I figured its best to wait a while.

Just wait it out. I think it’ll go back to around 200-220 for 1000rds in a month or two once all the lgs restocks on ammo. Missing the gun show here in sf cow palace. Stocked up on 5000 rounds for $169 per 1000
