Takes time to input the data. Response (assuming you're not prohibited) is normally pretty quick. And of course, the employees have other stuff to do around closing as well. Computer they use in use for other tasks? Entry employee checking/stocking restrooms? Who knows?

If it's their policy to not sell in the last half hour, get there earlier.

Considering you can be denied for a typographical error, I don't really consider this as probable cause to issue a search warrant.
