    used brass sales

As I have spent a bit more time at home with family during KungFlu season I have decidecd to clean up parts of garage.

I have a few 5 gallon buckets fo brass. Mostly 7.62 nato and some 5.56 and 9mm.

Did tried search with not a lot of WTB in here as far as shipping , found one guy on internet "brash for cash" may go that direction, juts not sure.

I always planned on keeping some brass for shtf ..but I already have shtf loaded ammo and Im not humping empty brass anywhere past my driveway.

Anyone here have a good place to sell brass?..all factory loaded one time shot/ brass and boxer primed

    Thanks for any input

There's a reloading component sale section on the forum here.

If you sorted by headstamp and sold in certain amounts (example: 1000 pieces Lake City 5.56 brass) you would increase your buyers over mixed headstamp brass.

Tempted to have the 9 year old start sorting. Most of it is not sorted, thanks for reminding me about the reloading section.

Don't waste your time sorting headstamps.

Sort calibers. Separate into 1,000 round batches, it'll fit in a large ziplock bag.

Sell by the thousand. Check prices in reloading components for sale marketplace, but if you want to sell fast, $40.00 - $45.00 for 1,000 9mm or .40 S&W, $65.00 - $75.00 for 1,000 rounds .45ACP (these you'll have to sort, nobody wants small primer .45 brass) and probably the same price for .308, though you might want to check, I'm not sure on that one. These prices aren't the lowest, and they're not high. Add shipping to your prices and it'll sell fast at these prices.

Go to the post office and grab a few medium and large flat rate boxes.
Sell in quantities that for in the box.

Sell here in the reloading section.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I have sold and purchased brass that was shipped in medium flat rate boxes. It is real easy but there are couple things you need to do to ship brass in them. First is put the brass in a sealed plastic bag then put it in the box. Second is to run tape around the corners of the box. The brass is heavy and the boxes get dropped a lot during shipping and the corners will break if they are not taped. The bag is to keep brass from falling out if the corners break. I had one box delivered to me that the mailman left a trail of brass from the mail truck to my front door.

You can sell on etsy, I think it was ultimate reloader I saw that on.

According to the guy I buy off ETSY, you can't sell reloading components there anymore.

Not before you clean it. For us old folks it's not so bad but even small amounts of lead plays havoc on a growing brain. Don't eff around with that one.

I didn't think about the lead part, but I always wash my hands after each step of processing. You can visibly see all the dirt and grime.

Cleaning, sorting, counting, bagging, shipping, paperwork .. .. . sounds like a lot of work. Selling on etsy is a royal PITA, must provide bank account information (so they get their cut), collect sales tax... fk it, I gave up on them.

By the time it's all said, and done, is it worth the $1.00-1.35/pound scrap metal value?
