Wonder has anyone tried it and there thoughts or is it just another gimmick like froglube?

Link didn’t work, but I found it and I totally agree with it, that’s why I wanted first hand perspective, since most reviews online are bogus nowadays, I’ve always just used hoppes#9 and break free clp and hoppes oil

OK I started shooting in 2012, I had several "experienced" influencers that said "Use Frog Lube!..." So I did... and well... It does work but then it doesn't... YMMV!

There are numerous threads about this, CLP, Hoppes, Mobile 1.....

Find something that works and stick with it.

I bought it and I'm not impressed. I also emailed and called the company for an msds/sds sheet for the solvent. I finally reached someone and they said they would email it to me no problem. It never happened and they wouldn't respond to my emails, Messenger messages or calls.

My father used to use automatic transmission fluid.

That said, I won't use anything that doesn't actually tell you what's in it. And I won't use anything that doesn't have, at least, molybdenum disulfide as a major ingredient. Even better is tungsten disulfide.

Slip 2000 EWL for the win. Frog Lube is used for my garage door rails.

The consensus on lube among shooters is just like anything else: You're an idiot if you don't use what I use.

My opinion is that all these "extreme pressure" or "high temperature" oils and greases are less necessary than actually using the stuff regularly. There aren't too many metal to metal interfaces on guns that are constantly jammed together so as to require a HP lubricant, nor are sustained temps generally high enough to require a high temp lube. Keeping a film of lubricant of choice between moving parts is more critical than what you're using.

My all time favorite sort of along these lines was Crosman Pellgun Oil. Crosman specifically states to use this or risk damaging your gun. Runs $4-10 per 1/4 oz tube (or $512/qt if you do the math.) The MSDS for the product states it's ingredients as 30W motor oil ($4-6/qt .)

Most of what you say is true. We don't see "extreme pressure" or "high temperature" in our guns. But nevertheless, molybdenum and tungsten disulfide have been around for many years (my father had a big jar of moly paste back in the '50's) and it's a proven superior dry lubricant. Combine it with a superior synthetic and you have the very best of both worlds. The moly/tungsten works its way into the microscopic pores of the metal surfaces where it stays and provides lubricating properties exceeding that of Teflon. Even when the carrier runs dry, the moly stays and does its job. There is no better lubricant than moly or tungsten disulfide. None. It's the absolute best.

I have an ammo can full of lubes, greases and "slickerers" that I've picked-up over decades. They all seem to work well. I do like moly & teflon based lubes, but that may be a prejudice.

If someone randomly picked a lube from my can and put it on any firearm I own, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
