    Bullet set back in case

I recently just purchased some PMC bronze 185 gr. as soon as I chambered a round the gun jams and this is what I pull out. not sure if I would risk shooting it. I emailed PMC no response yet. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else or did I get a bad batch?

That can happen re chambering the same round. Shooting it that way can cause high pressures.

Do not shoot it, there is a lot a pressure on that case.

I never rechambered it both happened in the first chamber and jammed the gun, yea I won't be firing off the rounds, first time using PMC so thought maybe its something they do?

Check for bore obstruction before you shoot.
Somethings pushing the bullet into the case upon chambering.

What kind of gun, exactly? And what exactly do you mean when you say the gun jams?

Maybe bad mag follower or incompatible feed ramp for this ammo.

And how do you chamber these rounds, do you drop the slide on them from a locked position or pull and release?

In pistol ammo, definitely don't shoot.

                    Springfield 1911 a1 loaded.

I tried with a Wilson combat mag and a chip McCormick mag same results.

I pull and release the slide.

Just to see if its the feed ramp I rechambered a Remington JHP about 10 times to see if i would get the same result but nothing.

I found one by chance in my 10mm Colt Delta with Hornadys. Don't know how many I fired that way. Hard to tell when they are in the chamber.

it's only a 185gr. maybe with the added pressure it act as a +P?

sometimes certain hollow points wont work in every gun.
try regular ammo. try a different ammo with a smaller hollow point.
if other ammo works fine. then if you want to keep that ammo.
you will need a gunsmith to work on your feedramps.

take a good look at your feedramps to see for unusual marks.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

If this pistol has been broken in properly and feeds 230 ball ammo without any hitches then I'd think it is a bad lot of ammo. Contact them or have a shooting buddy try it in his 1911.

This ammo might work fine in another design of pistol. Glock or XD or something else.

No need for pistol surgery at this time. IMO

Never had feed issues before on this pistol I'm starting to lean on bad ammo but I will have it go through other pistols and see what I come up with
