Sell me the junker Springfield parts you're replacing. Or you could
leave it alone and improve your shooting the old fashion way.

CNC Billet parts has nothing to do with bling. That said, I would not spend that kind of coin to upgrade a Springfield unless maybe it was a Pro or a full custom commission worked over by one of the good 1911 'smiths.

"Springfield quality parts". This is what can happen to MIM parts

Spend that money on getting better sites put on as well as a beavertail grip safety by a good gunsmith.

Replace other parts over time as needed.

Forgive me if you already know this...but 1911 parts generally are not "plug and play" like, say, AR-15 parts are. They usually require hand fitting by a competent smith.

With 1911's I generally tell people to spend the money up front and get the gun you want. Because by the time you pay for the upgraded parts, shipping the gun back and forth to a smith, and the cost of the smiths labor, it usually would have been cheaper to have simply bought the gun you wanted right from the start. Plus you don't have the downtime while you're waiting for your smith to complete the work.

If your gun is running reliably, I say keep it the way that it is and shoot the snot out of it. If and when something breaks, then find a good smith and talk it over with him on what you want done.

Thanks! Yes, I know parts aren’t plug and play. Sights are on the way. Beavertail is part of the order I am about to place before I thought about the whole bullet proof vs value line argument.

I agree about spending the money up front on the gun I want, but this was given to me as a gift a while back so I figured why not. Atleast I’m not out of the cost of the gun itself.

I should have mentioned before, Wilson's non "bullet proof" parts are still pretty darn good. If I didn't want to spring for the bullet proof parts, I wouldn't hesitate to go with their regular parts. You could always mix and match too.
