Looks to me like they're flexing their muscles to make it as uncomfortable as possible, I would use the crap out of them for PPTs and not spend a dime on anything in their store, anymore bull-crap and call DOJ. I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a Les Baer at a shop I used for some PPTs when they went ballistic on me with bull s**t rules. Quit using them for a while and a couple months later they called pimping me about the Baer..... oh no......I WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT, got one hell of a deal on the Baer.

It was another $47.50, and I did ask them again when I came in, but assumed they knew what I was talking about. Wasn't a deal breaker, I understand they don't make much on PPTs, so I let it slide once. Still beats waiting 3hrs for a PPT.

It was another $37, because you were paying the $10 per PPT gun charge no matter what, even if they had done it correctly.

If done correctly, a 2-gun PPT should be $57. I am guessing you paid $94 (2 x $47), which is a $37 difference.

Nope.

We have anecdotes here where CA DOJ has been contacted to get 'approval', but I am aware of no general rule .

Remember, that applies only inside CA - go out of state, sell through an FFL as many as you like. ATF has the same 'unlicensed dealer' concern but no actual number.

I'm fairly certain you cannot combine PPT's from 2 sellers into 1 DROS transaction. I tried that before corona during normal times 2 sellers with their guns ready to go, and the shop mgr said there's no way to do that. Ended up paying for 2 separate PPT's.

You can add on a purchase to a PPT if they leave the DROS open and do not click submit. I've ended up with several spare $50 Anderson lowers just because.

I'm open to being incorrect. I thought it could be done too, but I'm bummed for the $47+ and the fact that the Mgr of Dom's in Livermore had them process the PPT's separately when I specifically asked if they could be combined.

Yes, you absolutely can combine them. I have combined three different PPT sellers (five guns total) into one DROS before (my personal multi-seller PPT record), and several other times two different sellers. I always try to line them up like that when everyone's schedule allows for it.

Terminology matters here. DROS transaction != DROS session. All the dealer needs to do is select another transfer for you immediately after submitting the first DROS.

It also says calendar year...so you could sell 6 pistols on 31 DEC and walk into the same gun shop and sell 6 more on 1 JAN and you'd be within the law

That being said I don't see where it says it only applies to sales, they could easily make this apply to purchases

There is. The law doesn't define the number of weapons that you can sell per year. It defines the number of sales transactions that you can perform in a year.

You can sell up to the limit of 50 firearms per year in a single "transaction"

He's lying to you because he doesn't want to do anymore PPTs for you. Some FFLs will make up all kinds of stories in order to get out of doing a PPT.
