    308 Ammo rates

Hello, So I just got my first .308 rifle. What is usually the going rate for regular range ammo? Also, what was the going rate for each round right before the pandemic? Any input helps! Thank you!

Just right before i was going to get some at Turners for 13.99 aguila from the spring sale but then than got axed. Wal-Mart when in stock had some for about 16 a box that i managed to score. 30 something for a box of 50 magtech at a local gun shop(gun effects) but have not been back since, do to the lines. This was just the week of or right before they shut them down.

LGS were selling bulk for $399/500rd. Is that pretty standard for 308

Surplus about $.35. decent new about .55. match about .90-1.00

308 is easy to get. A little more expensive now but not horrible.

TargetSportsUSA had Aguila 308 150gr FMJ 500 rd. case for $250 + tax shipped. Even then it went OOS fairly fast.

I wouldn't be too concerned about pre-pandemic ammo costs unless you're planning a pre-pandemic live fire exercise.

I’ve been buying brass cased PPU from the hardware store by my house for $12.99 a box. It’s their branded M80 spec ammo.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

If you look around for sales you can buy it in bulk. A new turners opened in Modesto last year, and they had a doorbuster for $9.99 a box for PPU M80. I bought as much as the store manager would allow me on the last day of the sale... They had plenty left.
