    L.A. Gun Buyback Program

I'm not real happy about the gun buyback program. Yesterday's fiasco claimed 1700 guns. The organizers scammed the people turning in guns, by not paying them as advertised. Many drove off without turning in the weapon they brought to turn in, because the city was not paying them the $100-$200 as promised. The thing that really bothers me (I am absolutely a non-participant) is that the city says all the guns will be destroyed. WHAT ABOUT STOLEN GUNS? WHY AREN'T THEY RETURNED TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS? This ****ing pisses me off. I've had guns stolen from me in the past, I was burglarized in 1987 AND I WANT MY RIFLES BACK! All this does is PAY BURGLARS FOR COMMITTING A FELONY. This whole program is bull****. Now the City of LA is a FENCE FOR STOLEN MERCHANDISE? GREAT. DAMMIT.

Sounds like the way they are conducting their gun buyback program is by rewarding criminals. I know it is kind of a don't ask don't tell type of program. Seems like it is more encouraging for the criminals to go out stealing guns and taking them to get money from the city! On the other hand, maybe it was a good idea they did not get paid. Once again, this is only hurting the law-abiding citizens in your area.

They cab get more for a gun turn in than a crackhead will give them so it's two fold.

The SOB gets more money for the gun, and he goes and steal more guns... But, the guns are not being sold on the street.

I say do a sting.... Run all the S/Ns at "check in" and have them stand by to get paid... the one that come back hot you snatch them up and cart em off to jail.

Todays news conference showed the gun haul. Lots of nice guns. The reporter said "stolen guns would be returned to their owners" I'm hoping to get a phone call...

^^^I read somewhere that a grenade launcher was turned in. Don't know what happened to that person or where he/she obtained the weapon.

Dingo, I think you might be thinking of the guy in New York that turned in a hand grenade.

They said on the news the stolen guns will be returned. How about you call them rather than sitting idly by and wondering??
