Ive been out of the loop for past few years so im pretty rusty on some new laws. I used to build AKs but had to cut those up as I was not gonna have enough time to deal with serializing them and such before that deadline due to personal situation.
so just some stuff I need clarified
1) I understand before builiding I need to ask for permission? What info or docs do I need to begin the process?
2) I believe I have 20 days to put the serial number on and show that, then 10 more days to finish and show proof by end of total 30 days from receipt of serial number?
3) Can I apply for more than one serial number on a form? if so how many? All I need to do for my builds is rebuild onto new receivers, so it wont take me a long long time. obviously they will be featureless
4) How long does it take to get a serial number? will they give all at once? and particularly with covid19 situation rn?
5) Do they say exactly what they want engraved on the frame? like tell me how my name or location should be? Does it have to be exactly on my Driver license? passport? full first middle and Last?
Caliber, is multi ok? the AKs are caliber specific anyway, im just asking
