Where can I find bullet buttons?

I joined the military in 2012 and moved out of state (still a CA resident legally, thanks SCRA).

I now have a few CA reg'd rifles with standard mag releases since I'm out of state. I want a spare Bullet Button/Raddlock or two. Everywhere's out of stock. Any idea where I can get one? Or do I need to drill and tap for a Prince50-style lock?

Unless these are CA registered assault weapons, you can't install bullet buttons. Just being registered rifles in CA is not enough, you would have had to register them as bullet button assault weapons during the assault weapons registration window which closed June 30 2018

Individuals with eligible bullet-button assault weapons were required to register their firearms with the Department of Justice by June 30, 2018. A federal court (Sharp v. Becerra, E.D. Cal. Mar. 29, 2021) re-opened the registration window for 90 days, starting on January 13, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. PST and ending on April 12, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. PDT.

That is why finding BB is not easy anymore, because there is no market for them.

If they are not RAW, you would have to use a mag-lock 2.0 device which requires the action to be disassembled before the mag can be removed.

Anyhow here are some BB if you have RAW

Yup, RAWs. Thanks for the eBay tip.

Ordered from eBay. Please lock thread, issue solved. Hopefully the ban gets overturned and we're rid of this silliness.

I bought a bunch of these myself a little blue loctite and they have held firm for a Chinese product. Stacked them deep mainly for my ar15 pistols. Should keep them running till I'm dead and buried.

Or you could buy a compmag fixed mag just to be legal and not over think the problem

You can post on the WTB section of this forum. I bet you a dollar there's a metric crap ton of them in California that no body needs anymore.

If you just want some for whatever reason, I can mail you a handful. Pretty sure they're around here somewhere.

You can also run them featureless.

I wish I had seen this thread before you ordered, I have a radd lock and a bullet button sitting on a shelf I'll never use again since I live in a free state now. I'd give them to you free, just cover the cost of shipping in an envelope. I can't seem to get rid of them so they'll probably go in the trash.

I’d be happy to sell you a bunch of the ones I removed when I converted them all to featureless. That was a happy day when I got rid of those.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Do bullet buttons even go bad? I don’t have any back up for the one I have. Should I be worried about not having a spare?

Am I the only one who's curious as to why it needs a bullet button if it's already a RAW?

Depending on how they are installed (red loctite etc) and if the nuts are steel or aluminum, and if you have a good removal tool or not, they can get jacked up if you ever have to remove them for maintenance or you leave the state for a weekend getaway etc. If you find someone giving them away I wouldn't turn down a few.

OP left the state now has to come back. Maybe he lost them or they got jacked up or he wants spares (see above)
