Only option is to use a post-2017 magazine lock with a ten round magazine. Bullet buttons are no longer sufficient.

Removing the firing pin doesn't help. Must be mag-locked 2.0

      You need this https://maglatchusa.com/mp5-sp5k-z5-...t/#description

You also need to sell or block your >10rd mags before coming here

You can certainly go featureless on the MP5 clone. Just throw a kydex grip wrap on it and make sure it is otherwise 30 inches OAL in the shortest firing condition etc etc. should be no problem.

No known work around for mag locks under present law for an MP5 Skip the mag lock and go featureless.

He has a MP5 pistol, he cannot go featureless. It is confusing enough for a new resident without you throwing this out there. Read the OP again and completely before chiming in.

His only option is maglock. And the one I linked is 2020 /SB-880/AB 1135 compliant. Or he can disassemble it and keep the parts well separated, as in not in the same house.

Also OP, if you have a wrist brace installed I would remove it and put the standard end cap back on.

Unrelated advice... buy as many off-roster handguns as you can afford to BEFORE coming here. You'll thank me later they'll all nearly double in value.

Well, make sure they are desirable.............

Off roster crap guns don't sell for anymore here than they do anywhere else.

I've got an off roster Springfield XDs thinking it might be a great CCW gun someday, and well, even Springfield doesn't make it anymore, and there are better options out there for CCW (Hellcat comes to mind) when it comes to off roster.

The short answer as CA residents, is we don't know.

Get your pound price for it before you move back. THEN buy something crappy & CA compliant when you get there.

You were fortunate to make it out of here. I do not understand the thought process of coming back here for any reason. It's a lot worse now than it was when you left. I promise you that.

If you have a good friend, he'd talk you out of coming back.
