The rounds I load with Power Pistol, now that's got some flash to them. Day or night. The rounds loaded with Ramshot Silhouette, not so much.

With pistol and red dot, definitely looking at the dot floating on the target.

But for pistol open sights (at indoor range) with intense front sight focus, I actually do see the flash. The intense sight focus continues all the way through the shot and to follow up.... of course, the target is blurry the whole time.

Sometime in the middle of the hard focus through the shot, my mind is saying "...man, that is a big fireball" lol. For some reason on my G19, PMC ammo (which I loved) made the biggest flash. Alas, PMC is hard to get in my area now. I was able to get a 1K box though during Ammogeddon "Night" .

I love the flash and would love to shoot any gun that produces a fireball! lol!

When I was experimenting with various 9mm ammo, I recall one particular type offered a quite spectacular "show", RO came over to check it out, as it was quite the "flamethrower". Might have had a little more kick than typical or the other stuff I was testing, but other than that, just a little extra "fun"!

I don't know anything about reloading, but if it was safe, it would be funny to load a few rounds with black powder or something to make them belch huge clouds of smoke... let your buddy shoot em. Maybe stagger them. One factory, one smoke belcher. Pack some sawdust in there too for extra smoke.

Every time you pull the trigger, on any gun, will all ammunition, under all conditions ----- do you (the shooter) see the muzzle blast ?

What do you mean by blast? Flame, smoke, optical distortion due to pressure change, or loose objects being pushed around?

                            Always see:
                            Flame, no.
                            Smoke, sometimes.
Optical distortion, only on video footage.

The effects of blast can often be seen if you are near vegetation, such as grass or leaves on a tree. If you are next to a person shooting a rifle with a muzzle brake you will feel a slap in your face, more than you will see the blast.

Your question is like asking if you can see a fart. You don't see muzzle blast as much as you see its effects.

You will need to be more specific about what exactly it is you want to know, and why. Else this thread is a waste of time...

Maybe this was a joke thread...?

That wasn't me, it was some guy I read about on another forum years ago. He was trying to see how fast he could launch his own machined aluminum bullets and was fiddling around with huge loads of H110 (110 grains in that photo). I have attached two other photos of his experiment. I thought it was funny as heck.
