Perhaps you know these other people and perhaps they really did pack out your garbage for you.
If so, I'm glad for it.

I'm glad you're having fun shooting, but personally I wish you would find other things to shoot at and not leave your trash for other folks to maybe haul off to an appropriate dumpsite.
Yeah, they were buddies. At this particular area, I tried to leave it better than we found it.

Took my first trip out to the desert to shoot last weekend. Before that, ALL of my shooting was done at the local indoor ranges. Therefore, I'd never rapid fired or shot anything other than paper.

Holy Sh*t! I never thought anything could be so fun. I spent all day and a few hundred dollars worth of ammo, and couldn't be happier.

Just wanted to share my enthusiasm.

I always enjoy shooting in the desert, no range nazi's or ammo restrictions. Being able to shoot out to 2000+ yards is also a bonus.

Plus alot of other things you can do while your out there makes the desert fun. I do try to avoid it during the summer and winter though.

Yeah, the range wardens REALLY get on my nerves sometimes. Their definition of "one second" always seems to be longer than mine.

The last few days, I've been looking at my garage in an entirely different light. "Do I really need that?.... nah, I'll take it out and shoot it." My wife loves it, because I'm finally cleaning out the garage.

Yep! I had some of the most fun in my life in the desert.

We went to an area off the 8 freeway about an hour east of San Diego. It's BLM land and it's been used for shooting for decades.

Even with gas prices as high as they are, I still think I spent less on gas than the $25 for the lane at the range.

Sorry to ask what is "BLK land"?

Any other areas close to LA?

Yeah, we take most of it out if we stay till dark. Usually, there's plenty of people willing to shoot our stuff when we leave, so we ask them to take it out.

When we were done, this last time, we fit a microwave, computer monitor, computer tower, keyboard, boogieboard, and small TV in ONE plastic bag. Very efficient trash compacting method.

Y'alls have to be careful about shooting at computer monitors, I am sure you're leaving the glass all over the ground.. and glass is not really biodegradeable. Just my humble opinion. I never shoot at anything with glass in it or made out of glass.

                          Yeah, pack out.

If you're shooting something glassy then place a trashbag underneath so it mostly falls into the bag.

I can't remember the last time I paid to get into a range. Just going out onto BLM land to shoot is so much easier. And just as a general rule of thumb I tend to carry more stuff out than I brought in.

Oh and my favorite target of all time was an old compressed air tank I had from my days when I played paintball. The threads were stripped out on it so it was worthless, but it still had about 2500psi of air in it. I don't think I heard my gun.

I always enjoy shooting cheap beer/soda make sure you shake it up real good. Solid blocks of ice is also fun.
