CMP USGI 1911 magazines

A couple of years ago the CMP sold in-the-wrap USGI 1911 magazines. I bought 5 of them and opened a couple today. Both had rust spots so I opened the other 3 and when all were examined, 3 had rust spots and 2 didn't.

I scraped the rust off with a nickel and some 3-1 oil.

If you have these and are keeping them sealed thinking they will be pristine in the future you may want to open them up.

Thanks for the heads up. I do have some, figured they would be more valuable left in the sealed wrap. Mine are not in plastic bags like that though, I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

I did open one a couple years ago to use in my RIA faux-GI project gun. It looks brand new.
