I don't know if this is what you are looking for but I think this is a nice series of 13 videos to set the Dillion up for loading bulk .223. It put together by a Calguns member. This is the link to the first video.

Just make sure you know how to reload and understand the process completely. Setting up a press is a process on top of the basic knowledge, where you’re learning how the specific press operates, not how to avoid double charges or how to develop your loads.

My first press was a Dillon 1050. I had the hardest time in the world learning with that. I ended up selling it and getting a XL650, thinking it would simplify things, and it did not. I ended up getting a single stage for rifles and revolver rounds, and all of the things I struggled with made MUCH more sense after understanding more about reloading. I'm not saying you need to get a single stage, but definitely know the basics of reloading, and take the time to learn as much about it as possible before you dig into the box of parts. Slow down, take your time, and read read read.
The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.

Truth. One needs to know what every stage involves, how to adjust each stage, what issues cause specific problems, how correct problems, and how to q&a.

Get a single stage, it has many uses even with a progressive. Learn to reload, and after 1000 or so rounds, move to the progressive.

I believe the task with which you find yourself engaged (progressive press setup) would be easier understood had you first become an accomplished handloader using a simple, labor-intensive, single-stage press, where the set up for a new die for every step that requires a die press is necessary...

But then again I might be a sarcastic Dick. Who knows?

The instructions for the 650 are amazing. Just follow it step by step and you should be good.

Where are you located? A fellow calgunner would be happy to help.

If you were closer I would be happy to help you out. I know the 650 very well as do many others.
Someone near you will PM soon. Calguns rocks.

I appreciate it, I didn't realize a progressive press requires twice the caution.
