    Finally taking the plunge

So - it looks like i'll finally be taking the plunge and leaving NV for CA as of about a week from now.

I'll be in the Sacramento area - and done a little bit of research in terms of shops/ranges to check out. Not a whole heck of a lot though (had to actually find a place first!)

So - any suggestions as to places to visit, places not to visit - good ranges, ranges to avoid, etc?

Welcome to Sac. As of next week I'll be moving from the Rancho Cordova area to Elk Grove. Cordova Shooting center off of Mather Field and Elk Grove Gun Room are the places in the area to go. My schedule is hosed for the next couple weeks, but after that could show you around a bit.

Actually - I know of a few places I could go get one right now. Out of my price range though. Don't have the money to get it in the first place =/

            word.
Yea - my schedule is going to be hosed for awhile.
Are these indoor or outdoor ranges? Would like to start taking the .270 out again. Kind of need at least 100 yards outdoors though.

              Cordova is 100 yards.

Sacramento Valley shooting center goes to 1000 yards, but I think you have to be a member there.

I think you have to "qualify (basically hit the 10 ring at 100 yards)" to shoot the 300 yard range there, but you do not have to be a member.

Someone else will chime in to tell the specifics or you could just call them (Google Sacramento Valley Shooting Range).

                  awesome.

I actually know of Badger John's - I work right next door. They actually had .45 last time I was in there too.

Sac valley sounds like exactly what i'm looking for as far as ranges go. Will just have to try and find time to go. Once I move down there i'll be working during the week, so no more mid-day tuesday range trips.

That's OK I usually have weekends off and Sac valley is open

The only thing that sucks is I have Wed off and they are not open then. wish I could get them to change that. So I make the trip to Cordova if I want to shoot even though the Gun Room is less than ten minutes away.
