Long gun wall mount for easy access?

If it were legal in your jurisdiction to have a couple of long guns mounted on the wall so you could grab and go if something went bump in the night, what would you purchase or build?

I keep a couple on the floor nearby, but I'd like to have a place to hang horizontally on the wall. Was thinking of one of those hidden compartment wooden flags but they are kind of hokey and I don't want to be messing with RFID or magnets when I need to grab and go.

Any recommendations? I don't much like those locks that go around the triggers and hold the guns vertically. Want something for an AR and a shotgun, hooks maybe?

    Thanks in advance.

What's the point of mounting it to the wall if you're not going to lock it down? Just leave it standing on the floor against a wall or corner.

Just for night time use. Don't like it to be against the wall, they slip and fall sometimes.

You have any closets near the door? Put 'em in there. You can build a simple hanger to hold the long gun, or you can even mount a strong gun magnet that will hold it against the wall.

Problem is dust. When not covered they get dusty. It doesn't sound like much but it's quite annoying.

That's why I prefer glass enclosed cases.

I have my black powders on the wall and uppers as well as shotgun barrel. Two screws and some vinyl tubing. My guns barely fit in my safe now so I had to adapt.

That could be catastrophic! An AR falling on carpet!

Not worried about the rifle, the paint on the wall can get scratched however. I have to mind my Ps and Qs.

                  What kind of long gun?

If you don't want it to be locked/secure, why not use a simple old school rifle/shotgun rack?

Hanging a gun on a wall seems to need more motions to get the gun into action vice bedside leaning against a wall.

I drape a sock over the barrel of my shotgun to protect the wall and prevent things from going into the bore.

I have a couple pellet guns hanging horziontal in the garage. I used what can be described as double hooks made of sheet metal. I got them from 99 cents only store, and they do a nice job of hanging guns , bows and other stuff too.

Not sure they would be suitable for a living room application, but they do the job and a package of several is .99!

Why not something like a pool que rack.

Wall mount a truck rifle rack.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

                          Try these:

I have a couple mounted to the wall and they work great.

I hope you're not considering a "secure" wall mount, just spend a few minutes watching TheLockPickingLawyer on youtube and save your money.

Besides, that leads to complacency. Either leave it out and accessible, or lock it up in a proper safe.
