    Pelican 1700 case! Any experiences?

So I am working on my next build that probably wont be completed until a month in a half or so. Question is, anyone own a model 1700 Pelican rifle case or anything close to that. I am going to baby my next build and will be doing a lot of traveling this summer so I want protection for her. Specs say it has a purge valve for atmospheric pressure changes, and is also waterproof. The only thing I am concerned about is moisture in the case, which shouldn't be a problem if it is airtight and in a controlled environment. Price is very reasonable too at around 135.

Next couple of months, anyone know how to cut the foam insert for placement of my rifle and mags? Ill pay or buy a beer.

I have a 1720 and like it very much. It has a robust design and looks like it can take some serious abuse. Moisture inside the case is nothing a couple of silica packets wouldn't cure. I got mine for $150 to my door, pretty good bang for the buck.

      I've got a 1750 here.

****ing awesome case. Love it. Running out of room in my current one, so I'm buying a second one.

Pelicans are great. Also look at Starlight. I have traveled extensively(Africa, US, Europe, etc) with Firearms and a Pelican and it is 100% good to go. Just cut the foam to fit what you need. An electric carver works good for this.

        Buy with confidence.

Wouldnt worry about the moisture too much but if you are super anal (or planning on storing firearms for semi long periods in it) put some desiccant packs in there.

I have a 1700. It works great and protects its contents very well!

Right on, just the confirmation I needed. Looks like a Pelican with be the one protecting my next build that will be protecting me, lol. They definitely do look like very rugged cases. I was in a local sporting goods store the other day and they had a double rifle, cheapo aluminum case for 100 dollars. Ill definitely put out the other 50 for a Pelican.
