I’d like to find a place I can drop in during the week and fire a few rounds for load development or just relaxation without a 4 hr drive. Any ideas?
With ongoing development...you will have to drive father and farther to safety shoot on public land. West End Gun Club in Meyers canyon near Fontana/Lytle Creek area . Not many private clubs left. There is a waiting list for both the Fri/Sat?sun "limited membership" and the 24hr/7days a week "regular membership".

My round trip is 3hrs up in Sac. I just download a bunch of NPR podcasts and relax with the open freeways and cheap gas.

I don't know if they're taking new members at this time.

Do you want to sponsor me? Last I checked, and that was some time ago, you needed a sponsor to join.

Corona Sportsman's Club or Wren's Ranch Sportsman's Park.
                      Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

                      Luke 22:36-38 (somewhat paraphrased)
