You're not getting all the good stuff. Featureless or maglock, pick your poison.

Bullet buttons are no longer complaint.

If you want all the features your only choice is fixed magazine. There laws now require you to break the action even if slightly before you can operate the magazine release.

There are many options for magazine releases to achieve this. Similarly there are rear pin options to make the break action faster.

Even if you are going to build a rifle I'd suggest walking into a well stocked store and giving each of the popular compliance options a look. There doesn't seem to be one option rather everyone has their favorite. Or I should say one they will accept over the others.

Go with fixed mag to have all those features you stated. The mag lock is the most popular https://armaglock.com/

I would suggest watching YouTube videos about the mag lock to see how it works. Honestly functionally wise fixed mag is the worst and can make clearing malfunctions very difficult. Would not suggest it for self defense. Also by law you can’t put any magazines in it more that 10 rounds even if you have standard capacity mags you obtained legally.

Watch some reviews of featureless vs maglocked ARs. Personally I went with featureless because I have large cap mags and I have seen all my friends' guns that are maglocked who get jams and can't take out their mags without fumbling around.

Even the Kingpin in theory should work well, but in reality has that extra step, and partially blocks the safety, when handling your weapon. I have this for my AR Pistol but it only works for some upper/lower combinations.

Bullet button is bad now. The overlords not like them. Featureless or mag lock. Make your choice serf.

I’m gonna be building a ar-15 and I want all the same features I had while in the army collapsible butt stock, pistol grip, forward pistol grip and all that good stuff, I don’t understand the bullet button thing is it illegal or is it ca compliant? If it’s illegal then it’s out of the question but if it is legal isn’t that too good to be true?
Starting 01-01-2017, "bullet button" style magazine release are no longer CA legal compliance devices.

Starting 01-01-2017, in order to be considered a fixed magazine, the ammunition feeding device is contained in the firearm and it can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or it is permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well.
