My paypal account has been closed PLEASE HELP!!

I am sure a bunch of you guys know me by now because I sell magazines on this forum. I have done a ton of paypal transactions and was finally caught. They told me they are freezing my balance ($2000) for 180 days!! I need someone to give me a link to a guide that can help me get my money. People have told me about these guides but I can't seem to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really need that money. Thanks in advance, Missionmtman

So you know why you got busted? People not doing 'discrete' PayPal tipped them off, huh? People putting like "for 5 AR 15 rifle magazines"

have you read all the legal? i cant get to the site right now. i could see them suspending your account, but not your $$

relate to sales of (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (e) items that are considered obscene, (f) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (g) certain sexually oriented materials or services, or (h) certain firearms, firearm parts or accessories, ammunition, weapons or knives

so is that certain firearm parts? or does the comma kill it?

I heard most of the time here that you are SOL if you get caught using PP for gun stuff. Maybe if there was a way to review the notes that people left on the transactions? That is why I don't like to keep anything in my paypal account just incase.

They can hold your money for 6 months, YIKES!!!! I could maybe understand canceling you account, but actually holding your cash? For someone not being discreet?

So what do they do, just keep the money and say SOL? I know there are TOS, but can they just take your money?

Paypal is lame, I no longer am going to use it. They have this stupid $500 limit unless you give them all your personal information (bank account, SSN and address). So I have a few hundred dollars sitting in there until sometime later this month.

They can suspend your account, but CANNOT hold your money. They do that to gain interest off it, just like all the other BS rules they have now about if the transaction is from ebay and its a electronic item, the money gets held in a escrow account for x amount of days, etc, etc.

You want your money now they are holding? Simple. heres what ya do...verizon tried something similar to me, and the following worked for me.

                          1) call someone at paypal, keep asking to speak to someone higher up till you cant go any higher. Make sure you get their FULL name. then the paypal location (address) they are at during the conversation. Tell them you will sue them if they dont release the funds now. (they will think yeah right and not take you seriously)

                          2) after you end your conversation, go online and download the small claims forms and fill them out. Make sure you put both the company name and the persons name you spoke with. This is important. I found this out by accident.

                          3) go down to your local courthouse and file the claim. It will probably cost ou around $60.

                          4) wait for your phone to ring letting you know your funds will be released immediatley as long as you agree to drop the small claims case.

                          5) (IMPORTANT) make sure after you get your funds, that you call the court and tell them its been resolved. I think you have to fill a piece of paper out and return it to the court before your small claims date. You will most likely have to sign something from paypal agreeing not to sue since you are getting your money back.

Normally, I dont believe in lawsuits, I would hope 2 people can work whatever problems they have without resorting to a judge to make a decision for them, but when you are dealing with scumbag corporations, and paypal is one at the top of the list as far as scumbags go,(right above cell phone providers and credit card companies), they deserve everything they get.

The best part about this is since you put the persons name on the small claims suit, they are getting sued as well as paypal, and you better believe they are squaking to THEIR boss about getting this resolved. I happened upon this as a accident, I just listed the guys name I spoke with and you would not believe how many calls I got from verizon wanting to get this behind us and drop the suit. Of course, they tried to low ball me and drop a portion of the bill, but I stuck my ground and got the amount dismissed I was erroneously charged.

                          Good luck whatever you decide!

Wow. Thanks you guys for all of the advice. I am going to give them a call and try to figure this out. I am not going to mention who but yes, someone put "mags" in the comments. He is new so it really isn't his fault, it is partially mine for not reminding him. I put "Discreet" in my ad but people forget. I will keep you guys posted.

I really liked the idea of making a payment method on calguns. That could generate some serious revenue. I know I gave those bastards at paypal close to $1000 in fees.

Could you possibly tell paypal they misconstrued what the buyer meant? I'd tell paypal mags is a abbreviation for gun magazines, eg, handgun magazine, american hunter, soldier of fortune, etc. The were collectors editions hence why the higher price.
