    Replacing a K frame sideplate, tips?

    Put the side plate in the freezer over night.

      Go around the edge with a colored felt pen, test fit, check for where the ink is rubbed or scratched...there's your high spot(s).
      Be sure the holes in the side plates for the frame pins are clean.
      Be sure your frame pins are not bent.

      Modify the side plate, not the frame.
      That way if the job goes bad you can still use the original side plate.

        Toaster oven at 200ish for the frame and dry ice for the side plate.
        It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.
