low serial number value? input please.

I just built a lower I bought about a year ago. I just noticed that it has a serial number in the "20s". Yes you read that correctly ooo2#. So my question is "how much value is there in a low number serial number Multi caliber OLL lower"? Just build it and shoot it or what would you do?

Value depends on who is buying it. For me, it isn't worth any more than a lower with a serial number in the 5,000,000s.
sigpicIf you loan someone twenty dollars and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

With so many lowers out there, and almost anyone can make their lowers these days.... unless it is a well known, well wanted, name brand and it is extremely low like.... S/N: 0 or S/N:1.... it is probably going to be just like yet another lower...

Now, if it is a Colt... or a Noveske.... or a LaRue... and it is within first 10... then, it may worth *something*.... but still... hard to say...

I think that it means something!I think that the lower a serial number the better especially since maybe the higher the number the better the chances of "rushed" production!

Maybe if it was made in times of war.

The flip side of the coin to that could be, low serial number might still have some "bugs" that need to be fixed.

I have a a FAB10 lower with a SN < 00060. To me it's priceless ONLY because it is a registed 50BMG! If youe lower means more to you because of the SN, great! But, unless it is a Colt, I doubt that you could get a premium for it on the open market.

yep, i have bohica RAW. I registered it multi cal including 50 bmg so i can put whatever i want on it. .223 9mm 50bmg 37mm whatever. I will never part with that one. I told my son when I am gone to keep all the parts and uppers and throw the registered lower in my grave....lol

the lower is a "Ametec" multi. cal. i picked it up to build a 6.5 for my 13 year old to hunt with.
