I sold my friend a handgun and he was going to pick it up today. The FFL just informed him that the DOJ notified him that there is delay and it can be up to 30 days. For an automated process, this seems to be a bit fish on the DOJ's part. I know the FFL and it is not about him. Anyone else hear about this?

Just hope your FFL will release the handgun if in thirty days the DROS comes back as undetermined. Some will, some won't. It's up to the discretion of the FFL.
A lot of these "undetermined" final DOJ situations are popping up so it's a good idea to ask your FFL their stance on this issue before starting the DROS.
Same thing happened to me a few months back, my record is clean, I hold a local CCW and had just purchased some ammo a week or so before the DROS-all of this over a sixty-three year old Marlin .22 39A!
I sure got "schooled" on what "delay" and "undetermined" were all about. Luckily my FFL is one who will release on an undetermined, I didn't know that going in.Comment
