PPTs for handguns without magazines

Have the sense to ask ffl first before going there to do dros. Do they release on undetermined is another question to ask.

I've been lucky with a PPT without mags at Riflegear. They just asked that I bring a mag at the time if pickup for the safe handling demo.

The little dick of a manager of Turners Fountain Valley would not start a dros without a magazine. Would not start the dros and let us bring in a magazine at the pick up. Total assh*le.
They did have a magazine in stock that we bought. I think this pissed him off.

FFLs are mostly small businesses and they try to protect themselves from both legal issues and any hassle that might come from pushing the envelope. That’s why different FFLs will treat unusual situations differently and why you should call ahead.

Years ago many FFLs wouldn’t touch OLLs. Then they wouldn’t touch SSE. Many still don’t want to touch magazines over 10... Just the nature of the business in CA.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I ended up going to the FFL and asking them in person. They told me they don't need no stinkin' magazine to do the DROS. So that's that. I also found a couple of reasonably priced 10rd mags on eBay, which I ordered.
