CADOJ has a letter out stating that 1919a4's are not AWs since the PG is behind the action, not below the action. And that does not even bring up the fact that a 1919a4 is not even a rifle (not designed to be fired from the shoulder) , so it shouldn't be able to violate the rifle AW regulations.

This. Trust me, once you start building it, or you buy one like I did, you'll love the effect it has on people .

I have both the US department of justice and Ca DOJ letters definitely legal. Just be careful with your belts and stay in compliance. My 1919 is the only gun I have taken to the range and had people ask to take a picture next to. So having the appropriate paper work with you is a big help as it draws attention. Im not to computer savvy but pm me your email and I will try to scan them and e-mail them to you if you want. Now build the thing!

Aww, I forgot about that one. The only ones I remembered were spade grips and the pistol grip with buttstock. Or is that a different 1919 model?

Pistol grip, with buttstock, usually on a bi pod is the a6 I believe.

You're thinking of the 1919A6 which would be a no go here in CA.

not neccessarily. CADOJ has stated that the PG on the 1919 is not an evil feature because it is behind the action, not below. So, as long as you don't run a flash-hider, it should comply with the rifle AW regs.

It's easy, I don't even know of a FFL that WON'T transfer a 1919.
