I would look at the Les Baer Black Baer 9mm.

That thing is a real beauty and I would love to have one, but hard to find in CA.

The Springfield Armory Range Officer compact is a 4" officer grip 1911 w/aluminum alloy frame and in a real 1911 configuration (unlike EMP), available in 45 and 9mm. It is also lighter than a EMP4.

      The Nighthawk T4 w/aluminum alloy frame option is a 4" 1911 w/officer grip in 45 or 9mm.

Here they both are in 9mm

Here is the Nighthawk compared to a Glock 43

How do you like the range officer. I never had good luck with SF.

The RO is a nice gun, and if you are in a free state can be had at a relative bargain. And of course you can always have it tuned up for max reliability by a good 1911 'smith.
