    Gun auction goodies!

Have to brag. Hit the Greg Martin Firearms auction that ran yesterday and today.

    The tally:
Ruger Red Line Woodside Over/Under, 12g, 26" barrels (made in 1996, Excellent condition shows little use) for $900
Sig P226 stainless (Excellent, as new, sold with original box) $450.
    Marlin 6660 22LR semi-auto $100
Winchester 94 in .44 Magnum (made in 1970, 95-99% finish with slight wear to relief edges) $375
Inland M1 Carbine (barrel dated 5/44, finish 90%, wood VG, bore excellent) $600
Browning B-SS 20g (As new, in original box) $1,400

Missed out on: Tokarev SVT40, Browning Hi-Power, S&W Model 46 target, Benelli 121 M1 and some others that just went too high.

    Stressful couple days though!

While we did go to the preview on Sunday, we did not actually attend the auction. There is this service called proxibid.com, where they have a live audio feed from the auction and an online bidding process. All but one gun (the Ruger Woodside was a telephone bid) was purchased using proxibid. They charge an additional 3% for using their service.

Proxibid was not without glitches, a couple times it froze up completely, but I was able to call tech support and have someone on the phone within 10 seconds. Usually the problem was resolved within a few minutes, which apparently involved "restarting the feed."

I did not miss out on any lots I wanted to bid on, but I would have been ticked off if it had caused any problems.
