    Op-Law Form - Simple Question

I know you guys are probably getting sick of dealing with technical questions regarding certain forms and procedures (just read the "Unregistered" post) but I have a simple question:

I acquired a Ruger SP101 (in .38 Special) from my sister in 1990 (we are both CA residents). I know I don't have to do anything as far as legal ownership right now.

BUT, if I want to have this listed on my CCW license, it needs to be registered in my name. My only question is under "A. Owner Information" it asks for a Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) number.

My CCW license supersedes the requirement for an HSC (now called FSC) card. should I list my CCW number there instead?

Any other complications with this procedure that I need to be aware of?

    Thanks so much in advance!

Are you trying to do this online or paper form?

Anyhow if you do the online form and expand the 'Form instructions and fee information' section, it has these instructions for the exemption:

    HSC/FSC
If using a HSC or FSC exemption listed in Penal Code 31700, enter 999999 in the HSC or FSC Number field. Include a comment stating what exemption you are using and upload documentation to support your exemption status (i.e. copy of CCW card, Military ID card, etc.)
I would just do it online. But if you do choose the paper form, I would follow the same instruction as the online form. Enter '999999' and include a photo copy of your CCW and write on the photo copy a note that you are using it as the PC 31700 exemption for FSC.
