Do I need a new BCG?

Hey all. So i got myself a CA7 and replaced the upper with a semi auto one. The gun is unfired and all parts are new. This is probably a stupid question, but just want to be sure.

Can i use the Franklin BCG with the new upper i received, so long as I only use it with that upper? If i want to switch back to the non-gas upper, would i need a separate BCG for that?

    Thanks in advance.

You should have no problems using the BCG from your new(ish) CA7 into a new upper. It would be impressive if you caused sufficient wear to cause tolerance issues on a manually actuated AR system

It's silly not to have a dedicated bcg for each upper. I would suggest a new Toolcraft BCG for less than $100. Check out Spice tac. Dave has free shipping and no tax.
thanks, gonna look into spice tac.

Agreed. Especially considering i have replaced most of the parts on the CA7 lower to get it how I want. But I love Franklin and appreciate what theyre doing.

PSA has them for cheap, more or less constantly.

I last bought one from them for $54.00 a month ago.

Is it as fancy as some others? No. Does it BCG like a BCG should? Yes.

Full disclosure, I bought a nitrided one. Doesn't seem too nitrided to me, at least compared to my other nitrided BCG. But for $54... don't really care.

It's also a good idea to own a spare. At current prices owning a spare BCG is a must, NiB BCGs under a $100 are around. primaryarms.com is also a good source besides PSA. I keep a spare bolt w/firing pin in my range bag and a couple of complete units in my spares.
