    Places to Shoot Southern California

Would really appreciate any tips on places to shoot on BLM land or alike closest to Newport Beach.

Used to go to Steel Peak over in Lake Elsinore before they shut it down like the *******s they are.

I literally tried to find my own spots with BLM land searches but ran into cattle fences when I drove them and didn't feel comfortable opening them up and driving through to get to the spots.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I'd like a place in my backyard too. And free pizza, beer, bbq, and hoochie girls.

Burro Canyon is probably just a bit longer than 1 hour to and fro. Only 200 yards but hey, it’s a nice drive. No cell service so nobody can bug you. Nice time of year too. Go when it’s raining and you can shoot green tips and what not. Bi-metal stuff that attracts a magnet.

Old problems are like dry poop, if you let the dry poop sit it doesn't smell but the minute you decide to stir the poop with a stick, the smell comes back. Moral of the story, Don't bring up old problems!

^^^^ This. Many of the gun owners to use public shooting area's are filth and all of our now closed public shooting areas reflect that. Based on their irresponsibility and filthiness, most of them are probably vote democrat to boot...

The average person / lowest common denominator person is why we cant have nice things.

BTW...I cant exactly say with all the wildfires burning the state down that shooting out on public lands is a wise idea until we get some much needed rain... but there is that responsibility thing again huh?

Somewhere in SB County that's BLM.

All places south that were decent have been shut down by the forces that be. OC used to be much more conservative but it's in the toilet now and about to be flushed completely.

When this crap takes over SB County, and it will because people are stupid and keep voting their rights away, I will be out of CA. For the moment it still "somewhat" free here, most SB Sherriff's think all these laws are a joke and won't enforce. Enjoy the area and PICK UP YOUR TRASH!!

Perfectly legal to go through an unlocked gate on BLM land. The general rule is to leave it as you found it. opened/closed.

                        Hmmmmm I didn't know that.

I was seriously thinking about buying the crappiest piece of land I can find that would legally allow me to shoot on the property. Satisfy all minimum requirements.......do a weekend build with a Bobcat and create a large berm if needed.

Ideally find crap land next to a large mountain.

Any lawyers on this thread willing to Pro Bono a group contract and get a piece of land. I got $1,500 on it

The pizza, beer and bbq alone are not enough to get me there.

OK then. North of the 14 around California City (which is south of the 14) 5 acre lots are in the 5 to 8K range. Cheap property like these are often found on Craigslist. Use an escrow company.

You will be In Kern County. A very gun friendly County.

Build your berm and bring your tent or RV and have a ball.

                            You are welcome.
