    Golf Ball Game

Here's a fun game for those who shoot .22LR revolvers or semi-auto handguns.

You will need at least two golf balls, two small eye screws, two 3-foot long pieces of stiff steel wire (re-bar tie wire works), and two mini-carabiners.
    1. Drill a pilot hole in each golf ball
    2. Attach the eye screw
    3. Attach one end of the wire to the eye screw
    4. Attach a mini-carabiner to the other end of the wire.

Hang each setup on a cable, or other target holder, so that the setup can swing freely when hit.

Shoot from a distance you are comfortable with; 10-12 yards is good to start.

Aim to hit the hanging ball as close to center of mass as you can. A good hit will make the ball spin around. My friend and I got 8 complete rotations at 12 yards. It's really pretty funny.

After you hit one ball, move to the next one. We found that three setups makes for a good game. It's a great challenge for "Aim Small--Shoot Small".

We can attest that any caliber larger than 22LR destroys the golf balls.

Give it a try. It's inexpensive, and fun.

Good idea! How do they hold up? Given that they compress when hit with a racket, do they react in an interesting way when hit by a bullet?

I'll have to try it. I am always up for good game.

Place golf ball at 120 yards.

                Hit with 308.

A nick will move the ball a foot or 2.

A solid hit... the ball is gone. You literally don't see it fly from the impact dust cloud... but it's gone....

My friend I were shooting clays at 100 yards the other day. He was using a scoped 10/22, and I was using my Savage .223.

The .22 would break them. A good hit with a .223 would make them disappear in cloud of dust.

Isn't it fun blowing stuff up!

We've been "golfing" with the 10/22's for years. Hit them in the side and they will spin like crazy. When cleaning up several years ago I found this ball. It must have been spinning when it cut down this plant. Thought it was cool.

Sometimes a clay wont break from a fast moving projectile. The center can punch out, but the orange outer is still intact.
