Gun Engraving Help Needed!

Hi All,

If there is an existing forum out there, I apologize. The forum/post search was not working for me. Anyway, does anyone know a good gun engraving service in Southern CA? I want to engrave a 1911 slide and frame with some old English rose and scroll designs. Currently, all the hand engravers that I have contacted want upwards of $5,000 for 80% of the gun. What about laser engravers? I would assume they would be cheaper and just as, if not more, accurate in terms of design. The only issue with these services is everyone I have contacted wants me to send them a design in some weird format. I don't have the technological ability to make a design and send it to them. Is there not a company out there that has a rose and scroll program template saved? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It might be cheaper to buy a 1911 with scrolls & roses already engraved? I see some for around the $2K mark.
